AMAZON BREAKTHROUGH NOVEL AWARD
NO ENTRY FEE
We must receive your Contest entry between January 14, 2013 at
12:00:01 a.m. (U.S. Eastern Standard Time) and January 27, 2013
at 11:59:59 p.m. (U.S. Eastern Standard Time). The contest is
limited to 10,000 Entries, and we will stop accepting Entries
after we have received 10,000 Entries. One Grand Prize winner will
receive a publishing contract with an advance of $50,000, and four
First Prize winners will each receive a publishing contract with
an advance of $15,000. We’ve expanded the categories to include
five popular genres: General Fiction, Romance, Mystery/Thriller,
Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror and Young Adult Fiction. And we’re
accepting entries from more countries than ever before.
LINDQUIST AND VENNUM PRIZE FOR POETRY
NO ENTRY FEE
The prize will award $10,000 as well as a contract for publication
to the author of the winning manuscript. Submissions for this
regional prize will be accepted only from poets currently residing
in the Upper Midwestern United States, defined as: North Dakota,
South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Five finalists will
be selected by the editors at Milkweed Editions. Deadline January
GEMINI MAGAZINE SHORT STORY CONTEST
ENTRY FEE $4
Grand prize $1,000. Second Place $100. Three Honorable Mentions
$25 each. Deadline April 1, 2013. All six finalists published
online in the June 2013 Issue of Gemini. No restrictions on style,
subject, content or length.
GEIST LITERAL LITERARY POSTCARD STORY CONTEST
$20 ENTRY FEE
Send us a postcard along with a story that relates to the image.
The relationship can be as strong or as tangential as you like, so
long as there is a clear connection between the image and the story.
Maximum length: 500 words, fiction or non-fiction. Deadline February
