Thanksgiving Is Here

This is usually a busy week for most people. Writer’s are no exception so, I’m going to put my usual admonition out here – don’t be too busy to enjoy those around you!

This is that time of year when precious stories can be shared and collected and as story tellers, we understand how valuable this opportunity is for us and those around us.

Don’t regret not jotting down those wonderful tidbits of family history or folklore. And don’t be stingy in sharing your writing with those around you. With my brother’s passing this past August, it became clear to me that I didn’t really know him very well as an adult and I can’t undo that.  True, that’s how relationships were done in our family – not very well.  And now,  I am the last of that clan and I have no stories to pass along, really. I am reminded however, that when I’m with people, I really need to be with them. To listen to them. To treasure those moments with them.

I wish you all a wonderful and special Thanksgiving holiday! Travel safely, don’t eat too much and be kind to yourselves!

Keep reading and writing! Nancy Q.
